MITCHELL SHARES KNOWLEDGE
Western Force head coach John Mitchell recently visited Rockingham Rugby Union Club, to conduct an advanced coaching session aimed at providing the clubs coaching staff with additional skills and knowledge.
The session was very informative with John Mitchell more than willing to answer any questions. Overall the training gave coaches some insight as to how a professional coach will approach a game and plan training sessions to work on the different aspects of play.
With coaches attending from Under 14’s to Premier Grade the session will give coaches and players a fresh perspective on the recent addition of ELV’s (experimental law variations) that come into affect for all grades this year.
“This session was a valuable resource for our coaches who have gained a lot form tonight. I’m confident that this event and others like it will improve the coaching and playing standards within the club. We hope sessions like this will become a regular occurrence.” said President Ross Cardy.
After the session John Mitchell stayed to meet some of the clubs personnel and coaches to share stories of his playing days in New Zealand and of being on tour with Western Force. Mr Mitchell spoke highly of the clubs facilities and the Lark Hill sports complex as a whole and expressed a desire to make use of the Lark Hill facility for future Western Force events.

Our Club was established in 1972 by a dedicated group of rugby fanatics who had moved into the beautiful coastal town of Rockingham, and found that the nearest club was about 30km's away. They set about forming a new rugby club and 35 years later we have moved on to a fabulous clubhouse facility at the Lark Hill Sporting Complex, and have one of the best supported clubs in Western Australia.
Our intention is to keep this site current and informative. We welcome your contributions through the email contact.
